The last of the poems. I want the book to be out already!!!
My demon
The preacher preached and promised me non promising predictions with hopes of pulling me in, closer to the pulpit,
I smirked at his bullshit, and false presumptions of my lifes outcomes,
That day I lost interest in church, but I know in my heart is where god resides and she takes my side, I'll walk blindly to the edge for my faith, As long as I know she protects me,
Passing around lies to fill the collection plate, I paid attention rather than pass out funds for a bigger building, faster car, more fibs claiming to be fed right from the father,
I seek out to find me in her, but, she is in me so I peeked deeper within myself, only to unlock demons I practiced to put away,
Slammed doors,
I'd rather not unlock everything I fought so ferociously,
Chains with balls intact,
Demons with claws intact,
Fears I fight then relapse,
Promises I've made then relapsed,
Faces with tears attached,
Years with leers attached,
Feelings I've grown detached,
From This world around I'm detached,
I,
Detached my demons, they all mercilessly attack with meaning, I relapse and intact them back to the dugeon wall,
All to find me within me, the us within each other,
Let me take you there, where, to intervene with my demon,
I remember you well, we fell out, i had hopes of attaining you, but you lead me to, what is, well was, surely, my Demise,
Because of you my,
eyes are hollowed as the heart that beats beneath my chin, heart as dark as the eyes above my nose, eyes and heart that feel no remorse like sounds on the drums of my deaf ears, a face you'll remember, cheek less and mouth less speechless and pinched less by your evils,
Haunted by da evils, all while I flee from da evils, unknowingly fluently flowing right to da evil, devil rather, I closed the cage and climbed the ladder away,
Spewing Lies upon lies, I'll be the reason you make it she said, i am what brings peace, happiness, and warmth she said, I am all you need she whispered,
snickers left my nose, as I froze only to realize that those words weren't really lies, in order for my real eyes to embrace the she that is god for her to protect me, I'd have to embrace she that is love, the demon I'm rejecting,
Love uncontrollably, it'll come unnoticeably you'll know when it is she, don't reject it,
But me, I am not yet ready for that battle with the demon. ~

Jamal Bonner
As promised, here's poem number two from Jamal Bonner.
A leave of absence
A wager that forever will never be never more,But A bid that farewell will be a sorrow of bittersweet Proportion ,While Portions of me want to explore the world beyond to doors of contentment,Towards something more, a more serene scene of tranquility, peace and validity,Is A peak I fear together we'll never fall from,Thoughts of together forever, become less of a hope in these eyes,Taking a surreal realistic approach with all hearts aside, if it's meant, a smoother less frantic path may be destined for collision,This isn't goodbye, more so I'll see you at a later time, as long as this lions mane emits from you a smile, and a queens crown, when seen turns my frown, no doubt in my mind we'll be for one another at some time. ~

Jamal Bonner!
Expect new poems from Jamal once a week for three weeks!
To the.. (2013)
To the fifteen year old rape victim who won't be seen off to her sweet sixteen because the dumpster is her resting ground, my sympathy towards you,
And To the, sixteen year old who watches her mother push her limits on, how many more pills can I hold, liquor and coke can I control before I overdose, my, not so frozen soul to you,
To the seventeen year old who, no longer knows who she is or will become, because with no fatherly guidance was instilled and Jim joe bob and will is who she'll console to, my, not so cold heart to you
To the eighteen year old whose love of her life was plotting on penetrating, inseminating, leaving before the birth of baby not so like you, or, more like you than I can handle, may peace be with you,
To baby what's his name of some age or another, who wants to be everything he sees on tv there is a world beyond the medias screen and fan screams, I promise you that,
To the counselor of the boy, I want to be just like you when I grow up, give him something worth growing up to, something worth manning up to, a fight worth standing up to show him how a real man should do,
To school teacher in it all for the salary, and would rather or not waste her time teaching youth who, just, won't, get it, you helped create them, you helped mold a generation who are more concerned with the"gold all in my chain, gold all in my ring, gold all in my watch don't believe me just watch" how it all dwindles,
To the school systems who think black history should be taken from literature because it's demeaning, explain to me how that is, not telling a race about their past because the information will cause mass hesteria, it's like taking Sex Ed from a virgin because learning how to use a condom, might get them pregnant,
To our government who funds this land of the wealthy , home of the slave , I have no words for you , between the dropping of our beloved drugs, in inner city homes to the would not be thugs, school systems with systems that haven't been configured right , lies in every day literature and shutting down of job sites, gentrification designed to kill off generation by generation, I lost faith in you a long time ago, by your people for your people , and well, my people struggle to escape a box that we can barely even see through. ~

Jamal Bonner

When I first asked him who he was he said "Jamal". Then I asked what's his background, he went on to tell me how he was an only child for three years then his little sister was born and ruined his life. So that's Jamal for you.
Jamal has a nice collection of things under his belt. He writes poetry, has written a book, is currently working on a mix tape and many other things.
He describes his past as somewhat chaotic; moving several times, going to many different schools, not really having stability until he was 15.
He's been into cooking since he was 16, poetry since he was 17 but actively when he was 20. Music is very recent as well as his book.He says his favorite types foods to eat are Asian, Thai and Greek - while his favorite foods to cook are mostly combined tastes that include rice and pastas.
When asked what he writes about, Jamal said he writes about everything ranging from life in general, growing up in the hood, and white supremacy. His book, titled Rose Petals on a Broken Ashtray, is a collection of his poetry.
Jamal's taste in music is very versatile. he listen's to music that ranges from the Beatles to A Tribe Called Quest to Kendrick Lamar. But rarely will you find him listening to something recent in the hip hop genre, for he's not a big fan of whats been coming out.
Jamal's main goal is to kick his feet up on his island; which he plans to buy.
He says his inspiration is life and progression. "Once you sit still you start 'effing' up." he said referring to life. But I asked him what makes him stand out and said "Nothing". But honestly that's what makes him stand out.
Jamal's style is very much his own. He told me he wasn't going to tell me all the places where he shops because he doesn't want people dressing like him. But he shared Zara, Topman and overseas retailers as a few of his go to places.
And speaking of places, Jamal's favorite place to visit is New York and wants to visit Tibet.
The three words he uses to describe himself are spectacularly-awesomely-nonchalant, driven, and carefree.
Something he lives by is to never give up.
One thing people wouldn't guess about Jamal is that he cooks and is very good at it.
