Upcoming feature on poet, lyricist and chef Jamal Bonner should be posted before next week. But until then I have one of his poems from his book:
Holding on to forever
Grasping hold of eternity, at least thrilled by the thought of it,
The thought of attaining something unattainable has pleasure in itself,
Undeniably it has the potential, to never work, no need for pessimistic behavior from an optimists viewpoint,
You point out flaws, I’ll point out the beauty in each of them, you wish for stars and I reach up for each and every one of them,
Somewhere disguised amongst phases of planetary alignment, are lines meant to be written by our two hands, our true plans of dedicated, non-dictated, us combustion, hands held and lips touching, passed the point of naked bodies lusting, somewhere between our souls touching, with forces the
Magnitude of volcanic eruptions, then flow, flow deep long, forever with no interruption,
Your Movements, have me in a gaze like a ballet staring nothing but you, filled with an audience of just me, a bouquet for the star dancer, and once your workload has become enough, I, serenade you with a multitude of pitches, E,G,B.D,F, flicking, I’ve been a good boy so I deserve your fudge, fulfilled by the taste of your love, won’t let you escape from my love, because my love goes deep, deep against a spot where you shake uncontrollably, you reach up, can’t wait to get a hold of me, then your love, exploded all over me,
That’s just Thinking wishfully, wishes fully ignored, wished fully for more but more is for the gluttonous, and not seeking more is for the timid, waiting for more is for the delusional, having more is just an illusion,
I’ve met a pot of gold somewhere beneath the rainbows end. ~
I'm super excited to share my friend with you.
